Something beautiful in today

Hello from Atlanta dear blog family.

I noticed this beautiful lone wildflower blooming in my yard this morning and loved it. As I admired the plant that seemed to have sprouted out of nowhere, I felt inspired, reminded of how much goodness there is to reap from simply paying close attention to all that is charming and beautiful around us.

What if we were to intentionally practise the art of picking out the beauty and admiring the brightness in all that is presented to us on a daily basis… at home, at work, in the store, at school, on the streets, etc?

Even during those instances when this seems difficult, maybe because the boss won't stop complaining about your work at the office, or the assignment is challenging, or the kids won't listen, or your paycheck may not cover this week's bills that are due, simply choosing to focus on the positives in life has the power to expand goodness and opens up the calm space necessary for us to troubleshoot for solutions.

We don't often have control over some of the challenges we face and it is normal to feel irritated (and even frustrated) at times. However re-shifting our minds to a positive place empowers us to stay focused on goals and keep moving forward. It was Corrie ten Boom who said, “Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its troubles, it empties today of its strength.”

The strength in today is to be found in that which we are paying attention to.

You know, I have many of those days myself… when I am low on inspiration, needing plenty of motivation. Yesterday morning was one of such. After I watched the video I am about to share with you, my perspective changed and I felt much better and was able to get back to the work at hand excited. "If you are going to be happy, you have to be happy on purpose," says Joel Osteen…

I hope today's blog post inspires us to intentionally pay attention to the good, to possibilities, to our dreams, to focus on our goals and on working hard to accomplish them. "The sun's energy warms the world. But when you focus it through a magnifying glass it can start a fire. Focus is so powerful," said Alan Pariser.

Remember that you are in control of your mind and the beauty, the colors, the goodness you pay attention to, enlarge and expand.

Beautiful fall leaves

Cheers to your success!
