“Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family.” – Kofi Annan
The flow of information seems much more interesting when it's two-way and interactive. Such chats as #TodayILearned provide an opportunity to share with a group, while also allowing us to bounce information off each other when we respond by contributing our perspective on a post.
These days, it is not unusual to log on to the internet and be inundated by information that fails to fit into our lives (at least at that particular moment). On the flip side, social media can be a great resource for acquiring knowledge and drawing inspiration. Through Twitter chats, we can meet, connect and interact with like minds on a daily basis (or however often suits us).
Well, we are less than a week in and much information, ideas, fun, thought-provoking nuggets have been exchanged via #TodayILearned.
Personally, I am thankful and inspired by friends who have joined in the chat so far and are taking time to share of themselves and their knowledge. Something one says could potentially be a life-changer, a mood booster, to the person reading — we never know.
The sharing of information is vital for growth — in this day and time, human beings do not have to be confined within four walls of a classroom to learn. Seeing the world from another person's perspective could be of tremendous value in helping sharpen skills and opening up our minds to new avenues as leaders. Most great leaders welcome any opportunity to absorb something new that challenges them to grow and make better choices.
"Leaders become great not because of their power but, because of their ability to empower others" – John Maxwell.
