Help #endFGM NOW
Let's redefine what it means to be a woman … being a woman should NOT be about how much pain we're able to endure and still wear a smile, not about maintaining silence during moments of extreme personal challenges, it's not about giving until we drain the life out of ourselves, we don't have to be mutilated to be women. We shouldn't have to earn our womanhood by scoring high A's in 'Suffering'.
A woman should allow herself to be human, to follow her dreams, she should be fulfilled in all aspects of her beautiful existence. She should live life knowing and believing that she counts.
Traditions, customs and societal expectations that keep her bound ought to be questioned, denounced and changed. She's a bird, set her free so she can fly.
As women, let's find value in each other and help our sisters' voices to be heard. Your voice is your power, her voice is her power. By being there for each other, we're creating an unbreakable circle of love.
Speak up, stand up and be strong for the next generation. And together we will be a voice for the voiceless until she no longer cries in silence.
