We don’t have all the answers, but we’re still “marching on”

"So the theme I’ve noticed in my life is that great success has come when I was simply doing the things I was passionate about to make whatever difference I could."

– Congressmember Karen Bass (D-CA) to DUNIA Magazine

Lema Nsah & Lady B

It's been a while, Face2Face family. I hope you've been doing well and are being GREAT in 2014.

Last week was awesome. The 3K Run we had for the women of South Sudan was very meaningful and memorable for those who participated, including me. DUNIA Magazine will be officially reporting on the event in the coming week. I had the opportunity to hang out with special friends and associates. Internet radio show personality Lady B Bless was one of our out of town guests, hence the above selfie — hey, I am still getting into the selfie mix, so I hope the pouts get better with experience.

I was up early this Sunday morning, working and listening to music. The song I'm about to share by One Republic came on and it just felt so right – not too heavy, and very reassuring. One Republic says we're marching on … in-spite of our shortcomings, rough patches, disappointments, doubts, fears – we're marching on … simply because we are champions.

"For those doubts that swirl all around us,
For those lives that tear at the seams,
We know, We're not what we've seen,

For this dance we'll move with each other.
There ain't no other step than one foot,
Right in front of the other." – lyrics Marchin On

We are encouraged to work hard in pursuing our dreams, seeking to fulfil the deepest desires of our hearts. Don't let anything or anyone stop you.

Nobody has it all figured out. What separates the successful from the rest is that they keep marching on and eventually, little achievements add up to great stories of success.

Being great is a journey of discovery and getting better with every experience. This has become quite clear to me in recent years, as high achievers I have spoken with and interviewed for the magazine have been quite cautious and humble about their successes, and are still striving for me.

Wise words

"The heights by great men reached and kept
Were not attained by sudden flight,
But they, while their companions slept,
Were toiling upward in the night." – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

"Morale is the state of mind. It is steadfastness and courage and hope. It is confidence and zeal and loyalty. It is elan, esprit de corps and determination.”" – Gen. George C. Marshall

Let's stay the course

Whether we win or lose is really up to us. Once you've started, do not look back. Focus, learn and grow.

"We'll have the days we break,
And we'll have the scars to prove it,
We'll have the bonds that we save,
But we'll have the heart not to lose it." – lyrics Marchin On

And so, on this beautiful day, let's toast to 'marching on'
