Son on the left
Hello Friends, I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. I need help figuring something out.
If you're a parent like me, you probably agree that kids do ask some unlikely questions sometimes. My 9 year old son is bright and has a mind that works pretty fast for a kid his age. He likes to explore things, break them up and put them back together. He is smart and I believe he enjoys challenging the status quo as far as thinking patterns. In my eyes, he's a little genuis … well you know how that goes.
During one of our bible study sessions recently, we were reading the story of Adam and Eve. Genesis 2: 20-22, "…But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man."
The bible teaches that Eve was created from the rib of Adam to be his mate. Hence the woman marries the man from whose rib she was created and they become one – man and wife … was the message I was delivering that evening as any Christian parent would.
The my son said he had a question. "What if the woman is older than the man? How is she made from him?"
Seriously, I had no answer … and I still don't have one today. Can you help?
